The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training ® is the world's largest endurance sports training program. The program provides training to run or walk a whole or half marathon or participate in a triathlon or century (100-mile) bike ride. Jeri has decided to run the Rock'n'Roll Marathon in San Diego. Jeri has joined the training group "Team in Training" which is the world's largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education, and patient services. Since it's inception, TIT athletes have raised over $430 million.

Jery says this charity is close to her heart because, like most people, her life has been greatly affected by my loves ones' battles with cancer. Most recently, her great aunt Lila passed away in January after being inflicted with cancer.

One of the most wonderful men Jeri has ever known was her uncle Neal who was also was taken due to cancer. Jeri will be running in honor of these two people who were so special to her. She will also be running in memory of several other dear friends who have been afflicted with and some who have been lost to cancer.

In addition, her training team runs in honor of Jeff Luttrell, "our Honored Teammate".
Jeff was diagnosed with Acute Lymphotic Leukemia in 1993. He is only 15 years old. Thankfully, he is not in treatment now. He even rollerbladed a half marathon in January! Jery says "When I think of each of these people, and the races they have run for their lives, it makes the pain of the next 10 miles seem not so bad."

Jeri's personal goal is to raise $5,000 for cancer. Jeri is taking donations which are completely tax deductible.
